What People Say About Us

We recently had the pleasure of hosting Torri Shack for an LGBTQIA2S+ DEIB workshop for our organization in June 2024 in celebration of Pride. This experience was nothing short of transformative. Torri's presentation was thoughtful, direct, and intentional, capturing the attention of our entire team.Through his insightful talk, Torri provided our employees with a profound understanding of the challenges faced by individuals within the LGBTQIA2S+ community. His expertise in gender, sexuality, rules of engagement, and effective communication empowered us with the knowledge needed to foster an environment of inclusiveness and respect.I highly recommend Torri Shack as a speaker for any organization seeking to enhance their understanding and inclusivity. His ability to connect with our employees and deliver critical information with clarity and empathy is truly commendable.

As I reflect on my experience within the DEIB Panel today, I want to send you a Thank You note. This experience was very well thought out and offered a different way of learning rather than sitting through facts and evidence-based information (which is what I expected). Instead, what you offered held up to your initial remarks about what to expect from Tangible Movement: more lived experience. The panel selection was well put together.

Hearing each person's story and the number of unique stories for almost 2 hours allowed for far more reflection and self-inquiry than I expected. Well done.

I just want to take a moment and share how grateful we are to you and your business, Tangible Movement.  Your genuine compassion and willingness to be vulnerable is seen at every encounter.  Your ability to connect with clientele and share your story with the hope of helping another person see wellness can happen is top-notch.  You have been a resource for clients at Bristlecone Family Resources, and the staff have enjoyed learning from you, too.

Torri has conducted two continuing education courses for our office. As public defenders, we struggle with the effects of secondary trauma from our work. Torri and Sara shared valuable tools to cope with difficult subject matter in various ways, how to recognize warning signs that precede suicide attempts or self-destructive behavior, and how to respond effectively in these situations. Torri also led training to help us improve our representation of individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. We plan on having them back in the future!
